FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the 1:1 career coaching really 100% funded?
Yes. If your coaching is approved through an AVGS from the Agentur für Arbeit, 100% of the coaching costs are covered. You pay €0 for the program.
Am I eligible for AVGS-funded career coaching?
You may be eligible if you are registered as a job seeker with the Agentur für Arbeit and looking for a full-time job in Germany. This can include people affected by a layoff, recent graduates from German universities, or people living in Germany with a working partner. Your caseworker ultimately decides whether an AVGS can be issued.
How do I get an AVGS from the Agentur für Arbeit?
We help you through the process. We first have a free Erstberatung (initial consultation) to understand your situation, career goals and whether our coaching is the right fit. If it is, we provide you with an Angebot that you can submit to your caseworker to request the AVGS.
Can you help me get the coaching approved by my caseworker?
Yes. We actively support you throughout the process—from preparing the documents and communicating with your caseworker to helping with translation during calls. If necessary, we can even accompany you to an appointment at the Agentur für Arbeit.
What exactly will we work on during the coaching?
It depends on your individual situation. Your coaching can include career positioning, German job-market orientation, CV and LinkedIn, portfolio/case studies, job-search strategy, networking, interview preparation and mock interviews. The goal is to identify what is currently holding back your job search and work on it together.
Is the coaching tailored to my profession and career goals?
Yes. This is 1:1 coaching, not a standardized course. We create an individual coaching plan based on your experience, goals and current challenges. We specialize in careers including UI/UX, Product Design, Product Management, UX Research, Marketing, Data and Software/Tech.
I'm applying for jobs but not getting interviews. Can you help?
Yes. This is one of the main reasons people join our coaching. Together, we can assess your role fit, positioning, CV, LinkedIn, portfolio, application strategy and approach to networking to understand where the problem might be and improve your chances of reaching the interview stage.
Who will be my coach?
You'll work 1:1 with an industry expert with several years of professional experience. Our coaches also have experience with hiring, giving you practical insight into what companies and hiring managers look for.
Is the coaching in English or German?
The coaching is available in both English and German and takes place online with coaches based in Berlin.
How long is the coaching and when can I start?
The program includes 35 coaching units (UE) over 8 weeks, with at least two appointments per week and approximately 3–3.5 hours of coaching per week. Once you receive your AVGS, we usually need around two weeks to activate the voucher and obtain the Bewilligung (approval) from your caseworker before coaching can begin. One thing I'd consider adding somewhere outside the FAQ: your 200+ hiring manager/company network is a strong differentiator. Rather than squeezing it into one of these answers, I'd make it a separate benefit on the page, e.g. “Access to our active network of 200+ hiring managers & companies across Berlin and Germany—with referrals where relevant opportunities are available.”
